Fast usually not during peak times and good Small dining area so you might have to wait during peak times I know they're known for their hainanese chicken lo mein but I kind of felt like it was not as much as I had expected it to be , but maybe that's how it's supposed to be kind of taste like it's been steamed with minimum seasoning. I do however, like their seafood pan fried noodles I always ask for the noodles on the side so they stay crispy.. I've also ordered their raised beef stew one of their chef special and it was very tasty! We'll definitely come back again and again

***FOOD: Very Very hearty & tasty food. Loved almost everything we ordered. SHRIMP FRIED RICE - very good & large portion; CHOW KWAY TEOW - love the noodles & tofu was so good; INDIAN MEE GORENG - authentic & it tasted so good; RENDANG BEEF - our favorite dish, so delicious, really the highlight of our meal; SATAY SKEWERS - little disappointed, didn't expect it to be fried, dipping sauce was so good ***COST (OUT OF 4$) $$ Pretty good. Entrees were about $15-23. ***DÉCOR: Nice blend of contemporary & Malay country flourishes with ratan & plants ***SERVICE: Wowzers! i don't even think we waited 10mins before all our food started coming out. Everything was out within 15mins & we basically were there 30-45mins from time we sat down, ordered, ate & paid our bill. They are super fast efficient & friendly. ***RECOMMEND: Yes Highly RECOMMEND for the food and definitely would go back again if in the mood for Malaysian food or in the area

Eating here for a friends 40th birthday and the experience was elite! Let me tell you why. Ambiance: small hole in the wall, nothing special but basic. Service: fast, good and straight to the point. Food: flavorful, wonderful and each plate was authentic and so good. They unfortunately do have an 80 health score on the wall, which knocks them back a start. Will be back again!

This is always top on my list when visiting Atlanta. We ordered two orders of roti canai, the curry wonton soup, black pepper beef, another beef noodle dish and the crispy chefs noodles. The roti canai is unlike anything I've had before, bursting with flavor! I can literally drink the sauce. The crispy noodles are a must, and my sister is a big fan of the Thai tea.

I can't speak for authenticity but the food itself was very good! Casual restaurant that was already busy around 11am when they opened on Saturday. Staff were nice but food came out later than expected. Put in an order online - few minutes before opening for 11:15 pick up and wasn't ready until 11:30. Seafood laksa: delicious curry soup and enjoyed the fish fillets and scallop! Would have liked some fish cakes in it. Char kway teow: lots of wok hei (smokiness from the wok) which was much appreciated! Salted fish and eggplant: never had this before - not bad - my husband liked it more than me. I think I prefer Chinese style yuxiang eggplant instead. Liked that it came with a container of rice. Roti and curry appetizer: great as expected - flavorful curry and flaky roti, I always gotta order this! Would definitely return to try other items.

I had heard a lot of great reviews about Mamak so I was looking forward to coming here. I got there with my friends on a random weekday and it was pretty empty, so we were seated quickly. The restaurant is not too spacious inside, so it can probably feel a little loud and tight if there are a lot of people dining in. I ordered the Beef Chow Ho Fun while my friends ordered the Nasi Lemak and Chef Special Stir Fried Noodles. Our dishes came out fairly quickly. I love beef chow fun because it is a dish that I often order at dim sum restaurants, so I wanted something familiar. I thought that their Beef Chow Ho Fun was just alright. It was nothing spectacular to me and I feel like I have had better beef chow fun at dim sum restaurants. I think there was a lack in flavor. However, I know that my friends really liked their dishes. I would come back and order a different dish next time to really understand the flavors of Malaysian food.

Mamak is a pretty authentic Malaysian restaurant it what seemed to be the Asian neighborhood of Doorisville. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious. The curry was amazing and so was the beef. I want to come back to try their desserts. If you are looking for something to scratch the itch for some authentic Malaysian, do yourself a favor and dine here.

One of my favorite spots on BuHi - and surprisingly never wrote a review, until now. Looking at an old draft never published - Curry Puff Pastry was $3.95, Chow Kway Teow $8.95, Haiwanese Chicken $11.95 ... definitely a long time ago! My new favorites - Lemongrass Chicken, Black Pepper Beef, and Salt & Pepper Squid. Small spot so you'll want to avoid peak times. Parking lot is not great. Health score 80 is concerning but didn't stop us from eating here. Service is friendly. LEMONGRASS CHICKEN - $18 The flavors of this dish were really out of this world - lots of bell peppers. Very good! BLACK PEPPER BEEF - $18 Also great flavors - accompanied by the same veggies - lots of bell peppers. Very good! SALT & PEPPER SQUID - $18 Portion was great - tastes like the Cantonese version. So good! MAMAK TOFU - $17 Fried tofu topped w/ minced pork in mild spicy sauce. Listed here but ordered a year ago - the gravy tastes very good w/ rice. Big tofu pieces. Good! CHOW KWAY TEOW - $15 Penang's famous wok-fried flat rice noodles w/ shrimp, squid, egg, and bean sprouts. Agree w/ the other recent reviews - disappointing, very bland. GREEN BEANS - price? Apparently they also serve green beans topped w/ the minced pork - not on the menu though. Ordered but it was also bland - my friend said it's usually very good. May try again next time. Overall great spot to visit - great menu. I'll be back to get the lemongrass chicken, black pepper beef, and you guessed it - salt & pepper squid!
